Personal space

Image
Peaches, along with other birds, have warped rules for personal space. When Peach comes out of her cage, she usually sits on your arm first. Then she scoots closer to your face until she's right up on your ear. Sometimes she'll crawl over your face to sit on your head. Other times, she'll stick her beak in your eye. Luckily, she does it more to Jake than me 😂👍

Shhhh

It's hard not to wake up Peaches...

New post this Sunday (7/9/17)

Image
Due to events this weekend, I was not able to post. Get ready for a new comic this upcoming Sunday! <3

It's Peaches Birthday (Bird-day)!!!

Image
Happy bird-day Peaches!!!! <3 (She's five today, but don't tell her I told you :D) I'm starting to make comics about her, so be on the lookout starting next week!

Happy Father's Day!!

Image
Peach and her flock are wishing everybody a happy Father's Day!!! <3 We hope the dads in your life are hanging out, relaxing in a hammock, just like Peaches! Side note: I made the hammock 😎

PoultryGeist

Image
I want to dress Peaches up as a little ghost for Halloween. She makes weird little sounds, like "werrrmp," so it's a perfect costume. She'd be a poultrygeist 😁😂

The Healer

Image
Peach is a healer, didn't you hear? She knows when you feel bad, never fear. When you have a headache, mild or severe, She'll jump on your shoulder and scream in your ear.

Peaches likes to tag things

Image
We visited family over the weekend and brought Peaches with us. She is usually pretty well-behaved when she visits other people- she tones down the sass for sure. But this time she decided to leave her mark.

Chunkus Maximus

Image
After intensive research, mourning Doves have been renamed by the scientific community to Chunkus Maximus (Chunks in standard English).  Here are the field notes about the birds.  Diagram 1-A shows a typical Chunkus Maximus. This particular chunk has landed near a ground feeder. It will push other birds out of the feeder, and then the chunk will proceed to sit in the food to  eat. New findings show Chunkus Maximus has food receptors, meaning the birds always know where food can be found. Please see diagram 1-B. Please note the researcher had difficulty writing and spelling during fieldwork. Tips for identifying Chunkus Maximus: 1- When driving in the evening, look at power lines. You will know when you spot one.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Image
Peach and her flock wish you and your families a Happy Mother's Day!!! <3

Suspicious Pe-havior

Image
When Peaches has a HappyHut, she starts getting very suspicious of activity outside of the hut. Not only does she start to tell people to "step up" more often, but she starts to mean-mug everything and everyone from the hut. She becomes an instigator, telling people to "c'mon" when they approach her cage. She also says "ha, ha, ha" to antagonize her perceived foes.

Who's that Peach-e-mon?!

Image
If you have ever played or watched Pokemon, you know the little dudes say their names to communicate. Most Pokemon can only say their name or parts of their names.  Peaches is basically a Pokemon. She likes to say her name and parts of her name. She'll say "Peaches," "Hi, P," "Peach," "Pipu," and "Pipi." This would be Peaches if she were a starter Pokemon (she would be the best Pokemon):

House madness

Image
Peaches loves Happy Huts*, which are fuzzy triangular houses for birds. The only issue with the Happy Hut is Peaches gets extremely aggressive about her hut (she thinks it's a nest). We call this behavior "House Madness." This is Peaches in her Happy Hut (notice she has Lump Head*) Crazy Eye: A symptom of House Madness Crazy Eye makes Peach look like she might assassinate you at any moment. Don't look at her house or talk about it with her. I say this because I used to joke with her by telling her I was going into her house. She would scrabble inside...and plot. The next time we would let her out after the jokes, she would bite me. I don't do that anymore.  Here is photographic evidence of Crazy Eye; *See Cuteamus Fruitamus for more information on Lump Head

Happy Peach

Below is the happiest bird in the world 😍

Bubbles for Gumbo

Image
Gumbo is a little betta fish. He's cute. He's blue. He's manipulative. You may be thinking, "How is he manipulative? He's a fish." Well friends, please see the diagram below: BAM! Your soft heart belongs to Gumbo now. Gumbo loves to beg for food. He is the saddest, most pitiful looking creature when people decide to look at him.You would think I never feed him (I do twice a day.. .sometimes more* ). But as soon as he thinks you're not watching him, he goes to play in the bubbles. *I don't overfeed him, don't worry.

It's Gumbo Week!

Image
This week's post will be about Gumbo, my fish. He's a cool little guy. Look at that cute little mouth 😆😁

Lil' Woopy

Image
The other day we told Peaches she has to start pulling her weight with the rent. She's been living here for free on account of her cuteness, but it's been getting to her head. I was filling the bird feeders outside and found these posters wheat-pasted to the sides.

The Wobble

Image
Peaches' eyes are on the sides of her head. Because of this, she has to bobble and wobble to gauge distance properly. She's a little more dramatic in her wobble than parrots I've been around, but it's really cute.  She'd be a really good dancer.

Bird is the Word

Image
The bird bird bird. Peach be with you.

Oh no!! It's Momo!!

Image
Peach can be a little terror-bird. She throws tantrums and knocks her food bowls down. She'll splash water all over the cage and she will scream when she doesn't get her way. She's like the thing that came out of Tokyo Bay...

Peaches be like...

Image
The thing about pets is they ALWAYS pick one person they prefer more than anyone else. Peaches prefers Jake most days. For example, when Jake and I are both home and Jake comes into the room, Peaches be like: BUT if Jake and I are both home and I come in the room, Peaches be like: Rude .

Cuteamus Fruitamus

Image
Peaches and her kind are known in Latin as  Cuteamus Fruitamus [pl. cuteamus fruitami]. This name can be roughly translated to "cute-fruit." Scientists have done extensive studies on Cuteamus Frutami  and have found a  cuteamus frutamus ' emotions can be determined by the shape of their head. Some examples include "Flathead," an indication the bird is content. This is usually accompanied by soft beak grinding, and cute chirps. "Muttonhead" occurs when the birds puff their muttonchop-like cheek feathers out to show off. Figures 1-A and 1-B demonstrate these traits. Figure 1-A: The content Flathead Figure 1-B: The ostentatious Muttonhead Though the Cuteamus Fruitamus has a variety of good-natured head shapes, it also has more insidious ones. Lumphead or Cro-Magnon head means trouble. This head shape may mean the Cuteamus Fruitamus  has found a territory that nobody should come near. Don't even look at its territory. Lumphead can also m...

Hi, Peaches!

Image
I wanted to give you a real picture of Peaches. She's so cute, but SO BAD. But when she's bad, it's really cute anyway. <3

Looking over a mountain.

Image
I have a bird named Peaches. She is everything. And everything is bird. This is her looking over a mountain. She only weighs 58 grams, but she has a big personality.
